“When my grandmother passed, she took with her the names of four generations of our family — our gotra, our kula deivam, the ancestral village in Krishna district. I tried to record what little I could on Ancestry.com. There was no field for gotra. No field for nakshatra. The system didn't even understand that my grandfather had a Telugu name. That day, I decided to build the platform our families deserve.”

Yes. The free plan supports up to 50 family members and all heritage fields forever. You never need a credit card to get started.
Yes. Your name, email, and profile photo from Google (or Facebook/LinkedIn) are automatically imported when you sign in. You can then add your gotra, nakshatra, and other South Asian details to complete your profile.
GEDCOM import (the universal genealogy format) is on our Phase 2 roadmap. For now, you can add members manually — most families find this is actually easier for Indian-format names and relationships.
Any person marked as living is limited to Family visibility at most — they can never be set to Public or Community. This is enforced at the database level, not just the UI.
Absolutely. All South Asian heritage fields are optional. You can leave gotra blank and fill it in later. Many families use Vamsa Parampara to discover and document their gotra through older relatives.
The web app is fully responsive and works beautifully on mobile browsers. A native iOS/Android app is planned for Phase 2.
Vamsa Parampara is built by EurthTech, an AI & IoT engineering company based in Hyderabad and Vijayawada. The founder, Akkineni Prasad, is a Telugu entrepreneur who built this after experiencing firsthand how Western genealogy platforms fail South Asian families.
